The weekend had already came. Working with Mamo-chan was just like heaven. We got to see each other every day, not like when I was in school. On Saturday evening, we decided to go to our old place in the park-the dock and remember old times again. We sat down on the bench. Mamo-chan looked at me with those deep eyes of his. Mamo-chan reminded me of wine; as it grows older, it gets better. It was true. Nothing had really changed about him, except that he was a little taller. His hair was always the same. His eyes... maybe that's why I loved him so much. Maybe it's because of his deep, meaningful eyes. He came closer to me, putting his arm around me. I snuggled up closer to Mamo-chan. I put my head next to his chest, listening to the faint beating of his heart. He titlted my head to his direction, seeing his face. I wanted to ask him to take off those glasses, but he was one step ahead of me already. Just to please him, I quickly tied my hair up in odangos. When I finished tying one, he gently pushed my hand away from my hair. He brought me to his lips and before I knoew it, his soft, gentle lips were pressed against mine. I just closed my eyes and cherished the moment. Finally, we drew apart. he whispered, "I love you," I knew that and nodded. This time, it was my turn to give him a surprise and kissed him in a way that I've never kissed him before. I thought the two of us would be happy forever. The next day, Mamo-chan went to visit Motoki, leaving me in absolute peace and quiet. I planned on finishing my paperwork when my dad knocked and entered. Although Papa was old and wrinkled, he was still a jolly old man. "Seiya was waiting for me outside. I went downstairs seeing my mother telling me what I wanted to hear. "Don't worry, I still like your Mamoru," mama said. At least there was someone who still had sense in the house. "Well, if it isn't the little genius lady. Tell me, Usagi. Why are you wearing odangos? You never have been wearing them since High School. To wear them means that there is someone special, am I right? Is it me?" I was getting sicker and sicker of Seiya by the second. I would never let Mamo-chan even talk to Seiya, just for one milisecond.. Then I saw something that brought horror to me: Mamo-chan was walking nearby! I tried making hand signals telling him to stay away. I guess he did not understand my message. Instead, he ran faster and faster. He reached up to me and said, "Usako, why were you telling me to come to you as soon as possible?" I just sighed, having a vision of a nuclear war. Might as well get over with it, I thought. I curtly told Seiya, "Seiya-kun, this is Chiba Mamoru, MY Mamo-chan. Mamo-chan, this is Kou Seiya. I just stepped back to let the volcano explode. Mamo-chan shook hands with Seiya, then he said, "You're one of those Haruka-types, aren't you? Only difference is the long hair and that awfully flat chest," I guess I forgot to tell Mamo-chan that Seiya was a boy. "I'm a boy, Mamoru. Didn't I say my name was Seiya?" he was annoyed at Mamo-chan's mistake. "Oh, sorry. I thought your name was SeiyI, not SeiyA," "You would have said something better if you listened to my Usagi-chan. Usagi, how did you know Mamoru? Oh, yes, the one that left you alone for 4 years. Not a visit, not a phone call, not a letter, not even a photo of you at your campus. Isn't she lucky of her to have me for a friend when she was depressed?" I knew it. I wanted to tell Mamo-chan to just go and visit Motoki, but Mamo-chan said, "The troubles of living far away, no communications, assginments, projects, what would YOU understand, Seiyi?" I could see that Mamo-chan was getting angry. I wanted to stop them, but the war was raging. "A feeble excuse, no doubt. Chances are you went out more than study," "Where did you study, Seiya?" "Same university, as Usagi-chan," "Seiya, I went to study in England, not Kyushu," I cut in. He just waved me off. "Not now, Usako. Right now I'm putting your so-called boyfriend in his place," That really hurt Mamo-chan and me. "Since when are YOU able to MY Usagi by that name?" I was taken aback by Mamo-chan's outburst of anger. "Since I started getting closer to UsaKO," He pronounced 'Usako' with the popular obnoxious voice of Kou Seiya. "Mamo-chan, go visit Motoki," "Who's Motoki? Another boyfriend?" "Motoki was not at home, Usagi," "Mamo-chan-" "WHAT?" Mamo-chan looked at me with an angry look on his face that I had never seen before. After looking at me for a while, he cooled down into the Mamo-chan I have always known. "Sorry Usako. I got all heated up," He walked away, saying, "Continue your date, Usako. See you on Monday," I was plain speechless. Then Seiya grabbed my hand. "Come, Usako, let's do what Mamoru wantd us to do-continue our date," by then, all I wanted to do was just go home and finish my paperwork.
